Introducing a new stallion crop – dressage

One of the most important mares of her time

The state premium mare Delicia by De Niro/Calypso II (breeder: Ulrich Heuer, Bienenbüttel) is certainly one of the particularly valuable broodmares of the Hannoveraner breed. The dam line established by the Heuer family in Bienenbüttel based on the thoroughbred mare Freia xx by Alpsee xx/Asterios xx has already produced many good horses and has certainly produced some kind of key figure in St.Pr.St. Delicia, who has advanced this line in a special way. She is a four-time stallion dam. Cadeau Noir by Christ is based at the Bonhomme stud and has been successful up to Grand Prix level under three riders (Lena Waldmann, Simone Pearce and Moritz Treffinger). Finest Ampere by Ampere was only at stud for a short time, but has already reached the highest level in competition. Cosima von Fircks placed the ten-year-old at Grand Prix level for the first time this year. Influencer by Ibiza has found a new home in the USA and Forster TH by Fidertanz is currently successful in advanced level tests according to his age.

With her daughters Calimera and Corona, both full sisters of Cadeau Noir, St.Pr.St. Delicia won the 1c prize in the family competition at the 2013 Herwart von der Decken Show. With St.Pr.St. Lousiana by Lauries Crusador xx and her daughter St.Pr.St. Dynastie by De Niro, St.Pr.St. Delicia won the prestigious Wandereherenpreis (rotating trophy) of the Regional Society Lüneburg for the best mare family in 2018.

Thomas Ehrengut, Bad Oldesloe, accomplished this achievement this year with another generation. In addition to Calimera, he exhibited her daughter Hann.Pr.St. Quel Cadeau by Quantensprung and her daughter Hann.Pr.A. Velvet by Valverde at the Lüneburg Elite Championships and was unbeatable with this mare collection in the family competition.Calimera is now presenting her first licensing candidate in Verden with her son by For Romance, born in 2022.

St.Pr.St. Delicia is also the third dam of catalog number 40 by Va’Pensiero/De Niro (breeder: Thomas Heuer, Bienenbüttel).

Olympic flair

The former winning stallion Dancier by De Niro/Lancier (breeder: Ekke Thaden, Butjadingen) was awarded the Grande prize in 2014. The hope that he would have a lasting positive influence on Hannoveraner breeding has been fulfilled. In this year’s licensing collection, he is represented on the sire’s side by his grandson Despacito and on the dam’s side by himself and by Dagostino through a son.

Dancier’s dam, St.Pr.St. Lacarna TS by Lancier/Espri (breeder: Wolfgang Mack, Hagen), also produced the following offspring in Ekke Thaden’s breeding when bred to Desperados: Dark Fellow WAF, who was successful up to Intermedaire I level with Julien Despontin, as well as ZINQ Farlana FH and Fürst Belcanto TS by Fürstenball. ZINQ Farlana FH and Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel were the 2022 German Young Riders Vice Champions and Fürst Belcanto TS and Philipp Hess were successful up to Prix St. George level.

St.Pr.St. Danceline TS is a full sister of Dancier. She changed from Ekke Thaden to Danish ownership. At the time, she was in foal to Fürstenball and the result of this breeding was Heiline’s Danciera. The Danish-registered mare has since won numerous Grand Prize competitions. She first appeared on the international stage in 2016 at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo. Carina Cassoe Krüth was already in the saddle at the time and the pair finished in fourth place, just outside the medal ranks. They also represented Denmark in Ermelo in 2017 and 2018. At the age of seven, they again placed fourth.

One year later, the pair won their first international Grand Prix appearance in Flyinge, and three years later they reached the Olympic final in Tokyo. Heiline’s Danciera’s full brother is part of this year’s collection of dressage stallions.

Highly secured

Like no other stallion, Secret by Sezuan/St.Moritz is currently shaping the national and international young horse championships. The six-year-old Segantini by Secret/Fidermark (breeder Dr. Christine Feichtinger, Vaduz) is currently successful with the German championship rider Dorothee Schneider. He is one of the first offspring of Secret and earned his premium sash at the 2020 Verden second licensing. Since then, his career has been exemplary. As a three-year-old, he excelled in the 50-day test in Adelheidsdorf with a final score of 9.03. As a result, he was awarded the Weltmeyer Prize the following year and competed in his first riding horse classes. He left the 2022 Hannoveraner Riding Horse Championships as vice champion under the saddle of Jessica Lynn Thomas. The Bundeschampionat for four-year-old stallions records him as the champion. Dorothee Schneider rode Segantini to the final of the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses this September, where he finished fifth as the best German horse in his crop.

His dam is a full sister of the licensed stallion First Step, who was trained by Jutta Zimmermann to Grand Prix level and sired another full sister of the dam who produced Rose, who was successful up to Intermedaire I level with Rock Forever. Segantini’s full brother is entering the Verden licensing stage this year with a proven performance pedigree.

On everyone’s lips

With his first crop, the Celle State Stud stallion Von und Zu by Vitalis/Floriscount (breeder Welling GbR, Wietmarschen) was present at almost all of the major German licensings with premium stallions last year. It was a successful debut for the young sire, who left the 2019 licensing in Verden as a premium stallion and headed to Celle thanks to a cooperation between Thomas Berger and the state stud. He passed his 50-day test in Schlieckau at the age of four with a final score of 9.17, the best of his crop, which led to the elegant chestnut stallion being awarded the Weltmeyer Prize in 2022. In the same year, he and Janina Tietze qualified for the Bundeschampionat for five-year-old dressage horses. This year, Janina Tietze successfully entered the now seven-year-old Von und Zu in advanced (S*) level dressage tests for the first time.

This year, Von und Zu is not only presenting the eagerly awaited second crop, but his maternal half-brother by Bonds will also be entering the Verden licensing.
