Darina (breeder Hubert Ratermann, Alfhausen), a daughter of De Niro from the Hanoverian dam line of Colona, offers an interesting bloodline. De Niro is followed in the pedigree by the thoroughbred Prince Thatch xx and the half-breed Eldorado, both of which have a high proportion of noble blood, building on the jumping stallions Gardeulan I and Efendi. They form the basis for the breeding successes of Darina, who represents the most important branch of her dam line.
Three of her sons have been licensed so far. First, the two Sir Donnerhall sons Schneefuß and Kilian. Schneefuß was successful in the Grand Prix for the first time this year with his rider Susanne Mohr. The third licensed stallion out of Darina is Energy, premium stallion of the 2021 Hanoverian licensing.
Now, with the stallion with head number 3 from Opoque, the fourth son from Darina is presenting himself to a Hanoverian licensing commission. Darina has thus repeatedly produced interesting stallions with different sires, which speaks for the hereditary power of this mare
Dagny by Dancier/Lauries Crusador xx (breeder Hella Winkelmann, Wildeshausen) has a similarly structured pedigree. Like Darina, she is a granddaughter of Ester by Eldorado/Gardeulan I. As with Darina, Ester was first bred to a Thoroughbred, and the resulting mare was then bred not to De Niro, but to De Niro’s son Dancier. With head number 62 by Extreme US out of Dagny, this mare now has her first stallion at the Hanoverian licensing.
