The Flanders Horse Expo took place in Ghent, Belgium. Also present at the 15th edition: the Hannoveraner Verband. It had long been the idea of long-standing and loyal Hannoveraner auction customer and breeder Bernard Maesschalck. With the support of Anja Rietbrock, who is a member of the dressage breeding committee, the idea was realised. The black and yellow stand attracted numerous visitors.
Celebrity guest: Belgian Grand Prix rider Flore de Winne and her successful horse Flynn FRH by Fahrenheit/Sir Oldenburg (breeder: Anton Muhr, Bad Rappenau). Both have one goal in mind: the Olympic Games in Paris. Born in 2014, the brown stallion has appeared twice on the Verden auction stage. As a foal, a renowned stallion rearer secured the talent before he found his way to Belgium via the Netherlands as a licensed stallion on the stallion sales. Three years later, he won the Belgian Young Horse Championships and his first international Grand Prix in 2022.
The Flanders Horse Expo showcased many horse breeds and a wide variety of horse-related stands. There were also dressage and show jumping competitions up to advanced level, pony jumping, western riding and working equitation. “The Hannoveraner is very well known abroad and is very popular as a sport and riding horse for breeding and fun,” summarised Anja Rietbrock.
