During the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, the Regional Society Hannoveraner International held its annual meeting, which takes place every two years. The representatives of the Hannoveraner daughter societies and horse breeding clubs from New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and Canada had the longest journey. In addition to news from the Hannoveraner Verband and the development of breeding in the various countries, the focus was on the election of new board members, which became necessary due to the death of former chairman George von Platen, Canada.
The previous deputy chairwoman, Renai Hart from New Zealand, was elected as the new chairwoman. Renai Hart is chairwoman of the daughter society in New Zealand and deputy chairwoman of the WBFSH. Katy Holder-Vale from Great Britain was elected as one of her two deputies for a period of four years, and Sara Jensen from Denmark was elected for a period of two years. Katy Holder-Vale is chairwoman of the daughter society in Great Britain and is also involved with the WBFSH as Executive Director of Development. Sara Jensen is a member of the Hanoveraner horse breeding club in Denmark and was elected as the new chairperson of the club this spring.
An emotional end to the meeting was marked by the presentation of the Golden Pin of Honour by Carsten Leopold, Deputy Chairman of the Hannoveraner Verband, to Janette Lewis from Australia. Janette Lewis stepped down from the committee of the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia, the Australian daughter society, last year. For over 20 years, she has accompanied the fortunes of the society in various positions, from managing director to president to stud book manager. During this time, she has contributed significantly to the further development of the society, which has been reflected in rising membership and foal numbers. During this time, she also implemented and accompanied the conversion to the German stud book system serv.it. She was awarded the Golden Pin of Honor by the Hannoveraner Verband for her services to Hannoveraner breeding.
