The gate opens, the first horse enters the arena. There is crackling in the air, the tension is written all over the faces of the visitors: Their eyes wander back and forth between the auctioneer, the bidding interested parties and the horse, which trots relaxed in the Niedersachsenhalle, not suspecting that it is just the main actor of a captivating spectacle. And then: The hammer falls! The horse is sold, the new exhibitors cheer, the audience applauds. There will be scenes like this again on October 21 in the Niedersachsenhalle, when the 140th Elite Auction attracts horse enthusiasts from all over the world to Verden. Verden will become a meeting place for horse breeders, riders, people interested in buying and friends of the Hannoveraner horse.
“Meet & Greet, Show and Sales” invites Hannoveraner breeders and all guests to come together and enjoy a show program.
With the 140th Elite Auction another highlight in the auction calendar is coming up and is awaited with joy. 69 first-class riding horses, which are characterized by high demands on quality, rideability as well as character and enjoy a first-class reputation, will take center stage on Saturday, October 21. The collection will be completed by 24 foals and two-year-old stallions with the elite predicate. The riding horses and foals will be auctioned OnLive that day and the two-year-old stallions online on Sunday. In addition to the public auction on Saturday with audience in the Niedersachsenhalle, there are two other opportunities to bid at the auction. As usual, registered bidders can place their bids on the phone. In addition, the so-called live online bidding is possible. The collection is already online with photos, videos, pedigree and dam line information. Customers from Germany and abroad click through the collection in search of their dream horse.
The auction day begins at 12 pm and starts with the presentation of the foals and the two-year-old stallions in the Niedersachsenhalle. At 1 p.m., the Hannoveraner Verband invites its breeders, customers and friends to a breeders’ get-together in the Forum. At the same time, the exhibition area including meet & greet and gastronomy will open. Starting at 2 p.m., Frederik de Backer and Bernd Hickert will be hosting the show program. Visitors can look forward to a varied show program. Among others, the title hero of the Elite Auction, Carismo FRH, will present a freestyle at Grand Prix level with his rider Andrea Timpe, the vaulter and newly crowned German Junior Double Champion Arne Heers will show his acrobatics, and finalists of the World Championships and Bundeschampionate will be put in the spotlight on the catwalk. Of course, the Hans Joachim-Köhler Award has to be awarded at such an event. The prize is given to the most successful exhibitor at the Verden auctions of the past ten years. The crowning finale of the show program will be the horse trainer, coach and show rider Matthes Röckener. His sister Lisa has inspired him to do free work. With two and more horsepower, he goes for speed and proves that he can direct his horses from the carriage seat even without a harness and reins. Absolutely worth seeing!
The first auction horse enters the auction hall at 3 pm. The 24 foals will be auctioned in four groups among the riding horses. Immediately after the auction, the bar in the so-called glass corridor will be waiting for the visitors to enjoy the “After Auction Beer & Cocktails” in a cozy atmosphere.
