2025 licensing candidates: Cha Mu – successful in competition and breeding

From the not very widespread Hanoverian dam line of Khely, from which fewer than 100 Hanoverian mares have been registered with the Hanoverian Society since its foundation almost 100 years ago, the branch of a daughter of Steinpilz xx born in 1962 and registered in the studbook seems to be establishing itself in competition. Her Servus offspring Sam (Heinrich Hermann Engemann) and Sabrina (Jürgen Oetjen) were successful in advanced (S) level show jumping, and via another Servus daughter, this branch leads to Cha Mu by Contendro

Cha Mu was also successful up to advanced level and then collected further placings with Andrea Bargsten before she switched to her breeding program. Andrea Bargsten proves that the use of successful competition mares in show jumping breeding pays off with her first and so far only broodmare. Breeding with Dia Corrado, Cha Mu produced a highly sought-after licensed son in 2024, who was sold to the USA for €110,000. This year, his full brother will be presented for jumping licensing with head number 125.

his is a fine example of how success is no coincidence and that quality horses can also come from small breeding farms.
