The annual mare tour took place in Denmark on June 21 and 22. Starting at the beautiful EVO stud farm on the Danish mainland, five mares were presented to the commission. The day’s victory went to the three-year-old mare Toskana by Top Shelf/Landtinus, bred and owned by Ulrik Stadelhofer and Ole Hummelshoej. These two are also the owners of the sire Top Shelf, who qualified for the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in 2024. He has also mastered the first step of qualification this year. Toskana impressed with outstanding shoulder freedom in trot and canter as well as rideability, where she received the maximum score of 10.0 from the test rider. In addition, the mare My Dream by Monte Carlo TC/Destano, bred and owned by Anne Merete Qvistorf, received a premium.
On Sunday, the team traveled to Stutteri G on the island of Zealand, where a performance test with awards and a subsequent foal show took place. Three mares were presented at the performance test and six foals at the foal show. Among the mares, the three-year-old Dolly Patron G. by Donkey Boss/Belissimo, bred and owned by Stutteri G., took the top spot and thus the overall victory in the show. With her active hind legs and excellent walk, she secured victory ahead of her half-sister Dahlia G. by Donkey Boss/Wynton, also bred by Stutteri G. and owned by Bakkergaarden. In the foal class, Darwin G. by Dynamic Dancer/Don Olymbrio, also bred and owned by Stutteri G., won. He is none other than the half-brother of Daan G., who was awarded premuim stallion at last year’s licensing. Darwin G. impressed with his type, limbs and walk and trot. Other foals with gold medals were D-Quite Delights Castania by Dynamic Dream/Quaterback, owned and bred by Charlotte and Rasmus Mogensen, and Maximilian Tystoftgaard by Million/Gorklintgards Shaloni, bred by Tystoftgaard ApS. Although the number of mares and foals shown was not very numerous, the quality and, above all, the preparation of the mares was very good, so that all of them were able to present themselves in top show condition.
